30-10-2007: Rodman Muse 44 set to debut in the UK at London ExCel
Ancasta and the Rodman Muse range on stand SO43B
The Rodman Muse 44 – the third model to join Rodman’s successful Muse fly-bridge motor-yacht range - is to be shown for the first time in the UK at the London Boat Show on stand SO43B.
Designed by Fulvio De Simoni in collaboration with Rodman in-house experts, the Muse 44 shares all the seductive style, grace and character of her elder sisters; the Muse 54 and Muse 74, but with more compact proportions: 13.6m overall length, 11.99m hull length and 4.26m maximum beam.
The Muse 44 is the class-leader in accommodating three well-sized and fully-trimmed cabins in her hull length – with two flat twin cabins aft (no bunk berths). Her smaller size in no way detracts from the spirit and flair of the Rodman Muse range, which recently won the prestigious World Yacht Trophies 2007 award for Best Development Project in Cannes.
The interior plan has been crisply designed and skilfully executed, rendering the 44 unique in her category. The bright saloon has a contemporary, relaxed atmosphere, with generous storage spaces, and furniture finished to the highest standard. The practical raised galley and interior helm station have clear views, with large saloon windows allowing maximum light.
At lower deck level, the 44 features three large cabins. The forward master cabin has a bright, airy feel, with en-suite heads/shower compartment and refined design with hallmark comforts. The cabin has three opening port-lights and is great for longer-term cruising comfort - with hanging cupboards, deep drawers, oddments lockers and a well-proportioned double berth.
Two guest twin cabins and a second head/shower room are situated aft, each with two flat berths, hanging locker space and exceptional headroom for a fly-bridge cruiser of this size.
The fly-bridge is laid out with a convivial seating arrangement with a u-shaped bench and table located behind the twin-seat helm station and full-width sunpad forward of the helm console. A protected teak aft cockpit, sturdy guard-rails and well-proportioned side-decks make her a joy to move about. The 44 is aimed at safe, comfortable cruising with excellent visibility and command from the helm and Rodman’s signature triple side windows giving a sports’ feel.
The Muse 44, which is engineered to Lloyds Registry standards, has advanced twin Volvo Penta diesel IPS units with modern drive transmission systems based on high-tech contra rotating dual propellers. Maximum storage space in the hull is provided with the placing of these units towards the transom of the craft. There is also considerable reduction in noise and vibration with a substantial gain in range and top-end performance over a conventional shaft-propelled hull.
Also showing on stand SO43B at London will be the Rodman Muse 54, which premiered at last year’s show. She is a fresh blend of contemporary style with trademark Rodman practicality and, with first year production sold out, has been a great commercial success for Rodman.
