05-01-2007:ANCASTA HIGHLIGHTS LAGOON RANGE AT LONDON(ALSO AVAILABLE IN LONDON BOAT SHOW PRESS PACKS)
Ancasta International Boat Sales, the sole UK distributor for the Lagoon range of luxurious and innovative catamarans, will be highlighting the current models and revealing some of the exciting new ranges coming from Lagoon on Stand NO83 at the Collins Stewart London Boat Show.
With the Lagoon 420 with electric engines now in full production, visitors to the stand will have the chance to find out exactly how this quiet, ecological, energy saving and maintenance free engine works. The Lagoon 420 is the first production boat to be powered by electric propulsion, and the complete 2007 product capacity of 60 boats have already been pre-sold.
Also extremely admired in the UK, the larger Lagoon 440 is the first ‘non superyacht’ catamaran to offer flybridge steering and has already become one of the company’s most successful models. Now, with the introduction of the electric motors as an option on this model, the Lagoon 440 is even more popular as this modern solution offers many benefits to boat owners and users. As well as low fuel consumption, and reduced carbon dioxide emissions, the motors are silent and maintenance free.
With plans for an exciting new model to be launched in 2008, but with these details remaining confidential, Ancasta is confident of the increasing popularity of the Lagoon range. The success of the range in the UK was endorsed at the Paris Boat Show when Ancasta was awarded the title of second top dealer Worldwide out of a total of 25 dealers. The award, presented by Lagoon, was based on overall sales revenue.
Part of this success, says Ancasta MD Nick Griffith, is thanks to Ancasta’s Port Napoléon office. Based in Port Saint Louis du Rhone, this location has been going from strength to strength since the office opened at the end of 2004. A key factor in this success is the ability to have boats on site. Nick explains: “Catamarans, and those from Lagoon in particular, are extremely popular in this area. In addition, we are one of the few sites in the Mediterranean that can still offer dry storage space together with the different facilities enabling people to work on their boats. This space also means we are able to have 75% of their listed boats on site.”
Ancasta Port Napoléon offers a permanent array of boats on display, and this is being strengthened with the launch of its own Used Boat Show due to take place in March 2007, where it is anticipated that a significant number of used Lagoons will be available.
In addition to buoyant used boat sales, Lagoon expects to produce over 300 boats in 2007 run on two production lines, making them by far the largest builders of production catamarans in the world.
