February 2008 – A revolutionary maintenance free docking system which is taking the marine industry by storm, will again be on display at the Dubai International Boat Show on stand ESS K6 1 – under the banner of Marsol International, Versadock Distributors for the Gulf Region.
Unlike docks constructed from wood and metal parts, the VersaDock system offers waterfront and anchored docking whilst delivering unparalleled versatility – allowing even the most awkward corners, mud flats or previously unusable areas to be accessed with ease.
The systems are already being snapped up by marinas and boat yards across the globe. Indeed, a new VersaDock marina has recently been constructed as part of Dubai's new Palm at Deira (see photo left) – a palm-shaped man-made island which is set to be home to the rich and famous.
The unique Palm at Deira, the largest of the three Palm Islands, will consist of a trunk, a crown with 41 fronds, and a surrounding crescent island that will form a water-breaker. It will also accommodate residential properties, marinas, shopping malls, sports facilities, and clubs.
Ian Misselhorn from Marsol International said: “Versadock was the ideal solution for the application at Nakheel on Palm Deira, as it provides a flexible solution to a changing need during the construction phase. The system was quick and easy to install and provides an ideal temporary marina for Nakheel's service boats."
The VersaDock system is also proving increasingly popular with private boat owners as installation does not require any specialist skills, and can be assembled in only a few hours – indeed this is the only modular system that can be fully assembled from above the dock.
The drive-on V-Float technology literally guides and cradles the hull of a boat or jet ski safely onto the dock. This enables vessels to be driven on and stored out of the water thus protecting them from salt and corrosion in the harsh marine environment – also meaning no anti-fouling is required.
VersaDock floats form the cornerstone of the system, and are constructed using a high molecular weight polyethylene – capable of dealing with the most demanding environments. Floats are made to the strictest requirements, and are strong enough to hold extraordinary loads. Residential docks are made of the very same materials as commercial docks, and are virtually indestructible.
VersaDock’s design is so robust it allows the dock to move with the waves – whilst remaining completely solid. Best of all, maintenance is hardly required because excess water immediately drains away, and in most cases they can also be left in the water over the winter.
The lightweight interlocking modules are easy to add to, change, upgrade or relocate – as well as being environmentally friendly, UV and freeze resistant, durable and practical.
VersaDock's unique design and unmatched quality allow the dock to be used in almost any application. A variety of accessories, for example cleats and fenders, are also offered in the range, which is available from VersaDock International at www.versadock.com or through their distributors within the Middle East.
