22-01-2007:Halyard appoints Richard Johnson as Specialist Kaizen Manager

Richard Johnson has been appointed as Specialist Kaizen Manager at Halyard. With an extensive engineering background in the automotive industry and marine electronics, Richard joins the company from Raymarine Ltd, where he was a New Product Introduction (NPI) Production Engineer. Prior to that, he was Production Engineer for Wabco Automotive Ltd. Richard will be based at Halyard’s purpose designed new premises at Ferndown.

In his newly created role as Kaizen Manager, Richard will act as Value Stream Manager for Halyard’s project manufacturing at its Ferndown site. He will be responsible for implementing continuous improvement processes within the company. This will include establishing the strategy, systems, procedures and organisational structures needed for Kaizen to be effective, whilst complementing Halyard’s progressive lean manufacturing programme.

Stuart Cochrane, Manufacturing Director at Halyard says, “Kaizen is a process of structured continuous improvement and Richard’s background in production engineering is the perfect foundation to further Halyard’s implementation of lean manufacturing techniques across its three sites at Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Salisbury. As Kaizen Manager, Richard will be managing and improving the fabrication process from order to delivery.”
