Barton Marine unveils new Ratchet Block and Quick Cleat at METSTRADE 2018

Leading global supplier of marine deck hardware, Barton Marine, is launching two new products exclusively at METSTRADE 2018. Visitors to stand 01.478 can find out more about the new Barton Marine ratchet block and Quick Cleat.

Suzanne Blaustone, Chief Executive of Barton Marine, comments, “After our successful launch of the new Barton Block Range at METSTRADE 2017, chandlers continue to promote the new range as it takes prominent position in stores worldwide. Our objective is to provide new products that tick all the boxes for today’s sailors – sleek and racy design that is well engineered, stronger, lighter and provides the same durability, performance and value that Barton Marine is known for.

Suzanne continues, “We’re extending the new Barton Block Range by launching the new Ratchet Block which expands our dinghy packages and rigging options for sailing boats. The launch of the Quick Cleat this year offers an easy cleat option for yachts, kayaks, paddleboards, water toys of all kinds. You can quickly cleat basic items such as fenders, painter lines and boat covers.  Quick Cleat is a simple way to secure braided lines up to 6mm and is available from Barton Marine’s global network of distributors and chandleries.”

Barton Marine New Ratchet Block

The new Barton Ratchet Block is designed to be used on mainsheet systems and spinnaker sheets on dinghies and keelboats, and for small yachts up to 30 feet.

Combining high performance engineering and contemporary design, the 55mm ratchet block is the first in a planned range of sizes. Offering exceptional value with an RRP of £54.68 the manual ratchet motion mechanism has a safe working load of 300kg, and a break load of 1,200kg, it also offers a stainless steel lever that locks the swivel head if desired.

The new Ratchet Block allows sailors to easily hand hold loaded lines and offer balance between holding power and controlled easing.

Designed for low friction and longevity in harsh marine environments, the Ratchet Block body is manufactured from a composite of high density nylon and glass fiber reinforced polymer with a high level of UV protection. Internal components are of marine grade 316 stainless steel and the 12 faced aluminium sheave is anodised in gunmetal silver.

New Barton Marine Quick Cleat
Are you looking for a secure alternative for traditional cleats that are specifically designed for kayaks, water toys, paddleboards and fenders? Launching at METSTRADE 2018, the Barton Marine Quick Cleat is perfect for novices and seasoned mariners and takes the place of tying and releasing knots. It’s made of nylon reinforced composite and secures braided lines up to 6mm with a working load limit of 13.5 kilos.

Sold in pairs, the Barton Marine Quick Cleat offers exceptional value with an RRP of £16.95.   Easy to use, simply rotate the lever on top of the cleat, insert the line and release the lever which secures the rope. From securing fenders, gear, painter lines, buckets, boat gears or other gear, the Barton Marine Quick Cleat is designed to alter rope tension in one direction, but grips the rope firmly and securely in the other.

Barton Marine are currently testing new variations of the Quick Cleat for Inflatables, and a larger stainless steel version with greater load rates for a variety of uses on yachts and docks.
