Women in Marine Industry reception sponsored by Baton Marine a great success

Nearly 70 women attended the Women in Marine Industry Networking event at TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show 2018. Sponsored by Barton Marine and Boating Business, the keynote speakers included Nikki Goldsbrough and Lucy Gross.

The marketing for this marine industry event has ensured its popularity. Suzanne Blaustone, CEO of Barton Marine summed up the success, saying, “Yet again we are proud to encourage networking opportunities for women in the marine industry. It is so important for us to learn from each other and share success stories.”

Lesley Robinson – CEO, British Marine, welcomed everyone to the event and gave a short speech, introducing Nicky Goldsbrough – Women in Maritime Taskforce and Lucy Gross – General Manager, Association of Sail Training Organisations.

Lesley Robinson – CEO, British Marine, comments on the importance of marine industry marketing and networking for women, “British Marine’s Women in Marine Industry drinks reception is a rare but welcome opportunity for women to meet together and network with others within our great industry. The event helps to provide a framework to support, encourage and grow the awareness of industry opportunities for women in the maritime sector.”

Speaker Nicky Goldsbrough has held a number of positions at Shoreham Port, more recently as Director of Corporate Services. In 2017 Nicky joined the Women in Maritime Taskforce and has played an active role ever since.
