Experience outdoor theatre this summer with Clarks Village

The Alfred Gillet Trust, Strode Theatre and Clarks Village are offering guests the opportunity to pull up a blanket or deckchair, grab some popcorn and settle down for a movie under the stars.

Tickets are now on sale from the Strode Theatre ticket office and guests are encouraged to book early as spaces are limited. Thursday 15 August will air the musical romantic comedy Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and Friday 16 August will show the awe-inspiring Queen tribute, Bohemian Rhapsody. On Saturday 17 August… the choice is yours! A public vote will go live on 25 April on the Alfred Gillett Trust, Strode Theatre and Clarks Village Facebook pages, with a choice between the classic 1980’s Indiana Jones (and The Last Crusade), Disney’s 2017 Beauty and The Beast and Disney’s 1994 The Lion King. Make sure you vote to see your favourite film on the big screen – the winning film will be announced early June.

Chris Davis, Clarks Village Centre Manager says: “As we look forward to summer, we’re excited to announce this series of hit films over the course of three nights, in a beautiful setting on the lawn under the night sky. Our partnerships with the Alfred Gillet Trust and Strode Theatre have made this possible, and we can’t wait for what we’re sure will be unforgettable summer evenings, enjoying classic films in the great outdoors with family and friends.”

Natalie Watson, Director at Alfred Gillet Trust says: “We are proud once again, to be hosting the outdoor cinema, which will be situated in the grounds of our beautiful Grade II listed building. Through our trust, we aim to inform and inspire the public about the rich cultural history of Street and give people the opportunity to enjoy this historic landmark.”

Fares Moussa, Theatre Manager at Strode Theatre says: “Strode Theatre is renowned for our exciting and varied programme, catering to a wide range of tastes and ages – and we’re thrilled to support this series of fun outdoor cinema evenings which are sure to be a hit with the whole family. We can’t wait to find out the winning film through the public Facebook vote. Make sure you head to any of our Facebook pages and get voting!”

Those attending the outdoor cinema evenings can enjoy exclusive discounts at the Clarks Village restaurants to enjoy a pre-cinema meal, a one-day extra 10% discount at many of the stores at Clarks Village, free parking, and there will be popcorn, candyfloss, refreshments and a licensed bar on offer.
