Daniamant celebrates its second Queen’s Award for Enterprise
Leading marine safety equipment manufacturer, Daniamant, is proud to announce its second Queen’s Award, unveiled on the 21st April 2020 by Her Majesty, The Queen.
The Queen’s Award is the highest honour for a UK company and this is the second Queen’s Award for Enterprise Daniamant has been awarded, this time for its innovative Odeo Distress Flare. The Awards are made annually by HM The Queen and are only given for the highest levels of excellence demonstrated in each category.
Commending the company for the product’s clever design and functionality, the judging panel were impressed by the Odeo Distress Flare, particularly as an alternative to the pyrotechnic red hand flare and the first electronic flare in the market. The company was also praised for creating demand for a new market, developing a new revenue stream and its work to introduce new legislation and regulations worldwide.
The Odeo Distress Flare reduces the risk of possible burns or damage to a user or life raft, and uses LED technology to display a red flicker, signalling distress, whilst also displaying the internationally recognised SOS signal. It lasts for nine hours and has built-in infrared light for search and rescue at night, giving the user the best chances of being seen. It also saves on transport costs and has no environmental disposal issues that pyrotechnics have.

Winners are invited to a special reception at Buckingham Palace later this year and will be able to use the Queens Award Emblem for a period of five years as a symbol of the brand’s quality and success.
