Haseltine Lake funds over 500 hours of research for Worldwide Cancer Research

Major European patent and trade mark attorney firm, Haseltine Lake, announces it has raised an impressive £12,865 for Worldwide Cancer Research over the last year.

Equating to 536 hours – or 67 days – of vital cancer research, Haseltine Lake’s donation will help prevent lives being cut short by the devastating disease. The huge amount was raised through a co-ordinated series of organised events, sponsorship for fitness-based activities, cake sales and match funding from Haseltine Lake, as well as an epic static cycle challenge at the end of 2017, “Tour de Haseltine Lake”, where the team cycled the distance between the firm’s five offices around the world – more than 2,000km.

Dr Helen Rippon, Chief Executive at Worldwide Cancer Research, comments, “Thank you to all the staff involved in raising money for the charity. This is an astounding amount and we are so grateful to Haseltine Lake for demonstrating such passion and dedication. Without this generous support, vital cancer research would not happen and we continue to be indebted to everyone at Haseltine Lake for helping to turn things around for those facing a cancer diagnosis and for their families, now and in the future.”

Worldwide Cancer Research funds research into any type of cancer, anywhere in the world. The scientists the charity provides funding to have achieved significant breakthroughs in cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment in a wide range of cancer types. For nearly 40 years, the charity has helped pave the way for new cancer drugs and supported research into innovative new types of treatment such as immunotherapy.

Chief Executive of Haseltine Lake, Lesley Evans, adds, “I am delighted to announce the grand total of funds collected in Worldwide Cancer Research campaign. I would like to say a huge thank you to the charity steering group within our firm and to our fantastic employees who helped raise this impressive figure – everyone should be incredibly proud.”
