‘Your critical path to EPO success’ latest Masterclass hosted by Haseltine Lake

Major European patent and trade mark attorney firm, Haseltine Lake, hosted its latest Masterclass yesterday (10 October 2017), at the Royal Society of Chemistry, London, on the subject of, ‘Your critical path to EPO Success.’

The practical half-day seminar welcomed in-house patent counsel from all over the UK and mainland Europe, representing companies from the chemistry, electronics and engineering sectors. The seminar was designed to help corporate patent counsel navigate the EPO critical path, avoiding or minimising key risks and enhancing the prospects for success in European Patent prosecution and enforcement.

The six-part programme welcomed Haseltine Lake’s guest keynote speaker, Christopher Rennie-Smith, a European Patent Consultant and former Chairman of an EPO Board of Appeal. Christopher’s session focused on EPO Appeals success with his case study on, ‘Winning When it Really Matters.’

Commenting on the success of the seminar, Partner at Haseltine Lake and seminar chairman, David O’Connell, says, “It has been a very informative day. We have shared a lot of ideas with the people attending the Masterclass, and we have also been able to learn from their thoughts and their experiences.”

Haseltine Lake’s own team of experts who also spoke at the seminar included Partners Caroline Day, Elizabeth Cooper-Rolfe, David Brown and Isobel Finnie, who shared their professional ideas and experience as well as reviewing recent case law developments, and drew conclusions and practice suggestions from a number of case studies.
