Helly Hansen debuts 50+ UPF Solen sun protection collection

For over 140 years, Helly Hansen has been developing professional grade gear to help people stay and feel alive. For Summer 2020, Helly Hansen takes its most effective, high-performance active fabric, LIFA® Active, and combines it with S.Café to debut a full collection of activewear promising all-day comfort and 50+ UPF sun protection.

S.Café is the infusion of recycled coffee grounds during the fibre creation process to boost UPF protection to 50+ UPF that will never wash out, help control odour and maintain its UPF value when dry or wet. This removes the need for any chemical treatments that can negatively affect the environment during its construction or care.

Joren Davis, Product Manager for Base Layer at Helly Hansen, comments, “The inspiration behind the new Solen collection stems from our professionals and consumers who spend countless hours in the outdoors – they understand the damaging long-term effects of sun exposure. By offering a product that is always 50+ UPF whether dry or wet, we can assure those professionals and consumers are protected, regardless of the weather or activity.”

The highlight HH LIFA ACTIVE Solen Hoodie (SRP £50) for men and women offers excellent moisture management and breathable properties due to the lightweight LIFA® Active material, which is inherently hydrophobic. Designed to keep you feeling dry on those hot Summer days with 140g/m2 and using 59% recycled polyester, the Solen Hoodie offers even more protection with a regular-fit and hood. The S.Café promise of 50+ UPF protection makes this piece a go-to for any sun-exposed activity such as sailing, spring skiing, hiking and more.

Supporting the Solen hoodies, tops and tanks are the Solen Watershorts (SRP £55) for women. In addition to the 50+ UPF protection and natural odour management benefits of S.Café, the shorts offer 2-way stretch and quick-dry materials in fun prints to perform in the water and on the trail.

All Solen products will be available online and in-store starting Spring 2020. To learn more about Helly Hansen’s latest collections, visit www.hellyhansen.com.
