For Winter 2026, Helly Hansen launches its new Sogn Patrol Shell Jacket (SRP £640), designed and developed with feedback from professional ski patrollers and freeride skiers around the world, for long-lasting protection in a durable, purpose-built design ideal for both resort and backcountry skiing.
Worn by mountain professionals at more than 200 ski resorts and guiding operations globally, Helly Hansen collaborates with those who depend on their gear every day in even the toughest conditions. And, with performance and protection at its core, Helly Hansen draws on these real-world insights to inspire designs that push the boundaries for professionals and enthusiasts alike. Constructed with the same fabric used in professional ski patrol uniforms, the new Sogn Patrol Shell Jacket guarantees durable protection and long-lasting quality. The fabric, which was tested in Helly Hansen’s own R&D lab alongside the in-field testing by ski patrollers, delivers the highest level of waterproof/breathability featuring HELLY TECH® Professional fabric construction and fully sealed seams.
Combining the insights of ski patrollers with feedback from professional freeride skiers, the Sogn Patrol Shell Jacket is also loaded with field-tested details, including a large chest pocket designed to accommodate radios – an essential for ski patrollers – and fabric reinforcements at the hem and cuffs, areas prone to wear from daily patrol work. Multiple storage options, appreciated especially by freeride skiers who carry extra essentials for long days on the mountain, include two power mesh stash pockets and a LIFE POCKET™, which keeps phones running longer in cold climates, plus a phone leash to prevent drops.

Additional technical features include underarm ventilation; a removable powder skirt; a repairable front zipper; stretch panels for a snug fit around the helmet and optimal visibility; a removable, helmet-compatible and expandable hood with a hi vis brim; an expandable collar; and a RECCO® reflector for searchability in an emergency.
