25 years of Clarks Village

Celebrating 25 years of outlet shopping at Clarks Village in style

The Challenge

25 years ago 50,000 visitors flocked to Clarks Village for the opening of the first UK outlet shopping centre and the thrill of high street and designer brands offering up to 60% off RRP all in one location. The initial development included shops, cafes and restaurants and was built in 22 weeks at a cost of £3million. 300 jobs were created in the complex and 15,000 plants were moved to the site just before the opening.   25 years later, the iconic factory tower, mature landscaped gardens and London plane trees continue to make Clarks Village a unique shopping experience for the guests that visit. Today there are more than 90 designer and high street brands, cafes and restaurants that continue to offer great value for money to fashion foragers and style seekers.   Clarks Village was looking for a retail PR campaign that would maximise this momentous occasion in style!

The Solution

We worked closely with the team at Clarks Village to develop a media relations campaign pre and post event that resulted in targeted print, digital and broadcast coverage.

As part of the media relations campaign, we developed an influencer campaign working with lifestyle bloggers located in Bristol, Bath, Exeter, Taunton and Yeovil. The bloggers took part in a “£25 Challenge”, and as the name suggests, each blogger had £25 to undertake a spectacular shopping challenge. You can take a look at some of the fantastic coverage here.

A retail and fashion PR success!

The Results

Celebrating 25 years of Clarks Village was a phenomenal success and achieved fantastic coverage for Clarks Village.

Coverage of the event was received far and wide including

  • 25 pieces of coverage
  • 6 prime-time TV slots secured
  • 2 radio interviews secured

To find out more about how we secured broadcast coverage of Clarks Village’s 25 year anniversary, check out this blog.
