Hydro International will exhibit at the world’s largest exhibition for progressive flood professionals and property owners, demonstrating its range of products and capabilities to efficiently prevent flooding and manage flood monitoring, modelling, forecasting and warning.

Hydro International’s flood services help people, companies and public organisations to understand their current and potential future flood risk, enabling them to mitigate and plan for flood events and minimise or prevent damage and disruption to homes, businesses and infrastructure. Its Hydro-Brake® Flood and Hydro-Brake® Optimum vortex flow controls have been used worldwide to controls flows in stormwater management and flood prevention schemes, ranging in size from just a few litres per second up to large flood alleviation schemes controlling flows in excess of 33 m3/s.

The exhibition will consist of a variety of seminars covering different topics surrounding the subject of flood management. Hydro International will have two speakers at the event – Rob Burton, Head of Hydrometry for the Hydro-Logic® Services team and Karl Hall, Regional Technical Manager.

Rob Burton is a hydrometrist with over 16 years experience. His seminar presentation is titled ‘Natural Flood Management – Monitoring Performance and Improving Community Resilience’ and will explore some of the recent work on DEFRA funded NFM schemes, along with the benefits that flood warning and monitoring gives to the local authority and residents in terms of improved resilience.

Karl Hall has over 30 years’ experience in the construction sector and for the last 17 years has specifically worked in the water sector, specialising in flood defence systems and latterly sustainable drainage systems. Karl’s seminar presentation will be part of the Wastewater section of the Contamination Series in the adjacent hall.  Karl will describe how a sustainable and naturalistic solution was sought to mitigate the risk of damaging pollutants entering the environment from a household waste recycling site, at the Wymondham Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Hydro International will have key personnel on hand at Flood Expo 2019 to provide visitors with in-depth information about the company, its products and any developments heading into 2020.
