Hyperice, a global high-performance wellness brand specialising in percussion, dynamic air compression, vibration, thermal technology, mind technology, and contrast therapy, today announced that rugby player Louis Rees-Zammit, has joined its team as an official ambassador.
In an exciting move for the brand, the 20-year-old Welsh winger is the first ever individual rugby player to become an official Hyperice ambassador and the latest to join its exciting roster of young athletes including tennis player, Naomi Osaka, and footballer, Erling Haaland.
Louis Rees-Zammit has become one of the UK’s most recognisable rugby figures after a breakthrough 2020 Six Nations campaign, where he scored 4 tries and was a nominee for Player of the Championship. Following a hugely successful 2020/21 season for both club and country, Louis then became the youngest player selected for a British & Irish Lions tour since 1959. The Welsh winger, otherwise known as ‘Rees-Lightning’ is renowned for his electric pace, deadly finishing and is expected to have a long career at international level.
Recovery has always been a large part of Louis’ training and success, and his partnership with Hyperice will enable him to optimise performance and maximise his recovery routine, ensuring his body and mind can be ready for whatever the next match throws his way.
Louis Rees-Zammit comments, “I feel honoured to be the first rugby player to be joining the ambassador line-up for Hyperice. Since playing rugby at a professional level, warm-up and recovery has become an integral part of my daily routine. Hyperice helps me to reach my potential and do what I love more, both on and off the pitch. I like to use the products both before and after a game as they help to reduce stiffness and muscle soreness and improve my range of motion and flexibility.”
Jason Hussain, Business Development and Sales Manager for Hyperice UK comments, “We are very excited to be welcoming Louis on board and to be expanding further into the world of rugby. Rugby is a demanding sport and can be extremely tough on the body, therefore, recovery should always be a large part of the daily routine. We are looking forward to assisting Louis in both his warm-up and recovery routine and to be sharing what he does behind the scenes to ensure he is match fit.”
Founded in 2010 by Anthony Katz, Hyperice started as an ice and compression sleeve but has since evolved into a performance recovery technology movement. Today, the company is a holistic high-performance wellness brand with numerous product lines and categories, including its award-winning Hypervolt, Vyper, Venom and Normatec lines. This new approach allows Hyperice to better serve a broader range of athletes and help people everywhere do the things they love, and do it more.
Hyperice recently acquired mental wellness company Core — its third acquisition in 18 months, which will launch globally in 2022. In December 2020, Hyperice acquired Recover X prior to launching its new pinnacle innovation – Hyperice X – the world’s first ever portable contrast therapy device and due to launch globally in 2022.
